Because We Knew was created by a feeling I had around the idea of our deep but often hidden connection to all things. The opening sounds wash over the listener in a way that first asks the question, then repeats it, "What do we know"? The response is subtle and patient. The deep, evolving musical tapestry awaits this realization, slowly ushered in and at the midpoint a simple electric guitar emerges, joined by delicate playing, a touch of harmonics and at the five minute mark, the listener feels the abundance of our connection delivered then gently ushered off in to the ethers.

"There is a sublime delicacy about this new single by Michelle Qureshi that is so haunting, yet so filled with memories of the past. The offering is called Because We Knew and is a symbiotic composition, one manifested with the use of guitar and keyboards.
Qureshi is a true master of the ambient genre and has created many a fine arrangement to simply float in; however I was first entranced with the single art that came with the music, a seat in a park, perhaps on a cold and windy late autumn afternoon, leaves lay on the floor forming a golden brown carpet of nature, while the artificial lights of humanity glow all around.
As I listen intently to the artists sensitive performance, one could with ease listen to this music and be totally in the moment, perhaps even sitting on that park bench. Simply put Qureshi has manifested something here that is a little mournful, but quite beautiful, a veritable tapestry of a moment in music that is so moving and heartfelt."
